Sound Recordist / Sound Design / Composer
Pontus H.W. Gunve, musician, composer, and sound designer started his musical career in Sweden, but was drawn to the big apple in the late 90's. He received his Master's Degree in Music Technology from New York University, which helped him hone his musical and sonic skills, and it also helped him shape his unique musical style.
At NYU he has the opportunity to study with Morton Subotnick who is one of the pioneers in the development of electronic music and multi-media performance and an innovator in works involving instruments and other media, including interactive computer music systems. He studied Film Scoring with Ronald Sadoff, the Director of the Film Scoring Program in NYU Steinhardt, as well as studying electronic music systems and synthesis with Richard Boulanger - Berklee Professor - International lecturer, author, performer, composer, and consultant in music synthesis & Fulbright scholar.
Pontus works have been featured in award-wining documentaries, feature films, short films, advertisements, internet and multimedia campaigns, and has also allowed him to collaborate on projects in America, Europe, and India.
Pontus remains an active musician. He has collaborated on large scale musical productions, produced albums, session work (as a lead guitarist), and is currently working his project PHWG, with a new album Movements, and promoting the live show.
